Improve Patient Retention and Promote Your Practice With Quality Out-The-Door Gifts

Posted by on Tuesday, December 31st, 2013

From a patient’s perspective, a trip to the dentist should mean clean teeth and freebies. Let’s stipulate that every dentist can (and should) give out toothbrushes, floss and gum picks. As nice as those gifts are, you can do better in terms of branding and patient support. Office giveaways are not bribes for your patients. Instead, consider them positive affirmation that you’re the only dentist they should be visiting. Of course, it will help if those patients recommend you to their friends and family. That happens when every visit is a happy visit!

Here are some suggestions for dental freebies that matter:

Tube Squeezers

There are plenty of newfangled toothpaste dispensers on the market today. However, there will be plenty of patients who like the “old school” tube method the best. For those folks, a simple tube squeezer will allow them to get the most paste out of that tube. These wonderful little devices slip over the tube and let the user push out the paste to the very last squeeze. Best of all, you can imprint your office logo/contact info on the squeezers. That’s a free “commercial” every time someone brushes their teeth!

The 4 Health Benefits of Cosmetic Dentistry That Will Surprise Your Patients

Posted by on Tuesday, November 5th, 2013

When most people think of cosmetic dentistry, they think of procedures that are done purely out of vanity. While it’s certainly true that some cosmetic dental procedures are done purely for the sake of image, you know that there are some that can have actual health benefits. According to Robert Harrell of Adult Dentistry of Ballantyne, misaligned teeth can have an impact on your patient’s bite, which in turn can lead to other problems like headaches and migraines, which are in fact caused by misaligned bite force. Your practice may offer several different options when it comes to fixing misaligned teeth, including the classic braces that most patients are familiar with, and the newer Invisalign system that continues to grow in popularity. Whichever option you offer, letting your patients know about the secondary benefits will help them make a better educated decision when taking the steps to improve their teeth.

Cutting Costs for You & Your Patients With Mobile X-Ray Technology

Posted by on Thursday, October 24th, 2013

Happy patients make for happy dentists (and hygienists, and office staff). So what makes patients happy besides a clean bill of health on their teeth? Saving money, of course! Everybody likes to save money, and your patients are no exception. Now I’m not suggesting that you offer a Groupon or online coupon. No, I’m talking about procedures you can perform now that will save your patients money in the long run, and ways to cut your own costs with equipment and supplies that allow you to do your work faster, better, and at a price that allows you to pass the savings on to your patients.

Show the Long-Term Value in Your Dental Procedures

You know that having a small filling now can save a patient from a larger, more painful and expensive procedure down the line. Does your patient? Do they know that a whitening now could save them from costly veneers? Taking the time to explain how the common dental procedure you do today can end up saving them money in the long-run will help them understand the value of going through with a procedure now, and increase their trust in your practice.
